The descendants listed in this website have their beginnings with Charles LaVallé who was born in 1584 in France. He died in 1658 at the age of 74 in Rouen, Normandy, France. Two of his grandsons moved to Canada in the early 1660s. They were Jean Vallée, born in 1642 in Rouen, France, and Pierre LaVallée, born in 1645 in Rouen, France. The descendants of these two brothers are spread throughout Canada and the United States of America. Pierre, a master surgeon, began the LaVallée line in Canada and later in the United States of America. Pierre died in 1686 at the age of 41. Jean, a farmer, began the Vallée line in Canada. Jean died at Ste. Famille, Île of Orléans, Québec in 1673 at the age of 31. It is unknown why Jean changed his last name from LaVallée to Vallée.
